Description
The Nursing Training Kit is a complete set of clinical instruments with six months of access to three certified, self-paced Apprentice Doctor Academy courses.
The Foundation Medical Course runs to 99 lessons and more than 50 practical projects done with the kit: hand hygiene, gloving and sterile technique; a full set of vitals; examination of the eye, ear, skin, mouth and abdomen; the patellar, Babinski and pupil-light reflexes; normal and abnormal heart, lung, joint and bowel sounds; urinalysis; and a thorough medical history. It counts as the equivalent of sixty shadowing hours. The Cardiology course teaches a seven-step method for reading an ECG using the ECG ruler card in the kit. The Pulse Oximetry course teaches what an SpO2 reading and perfusion index mean and what throws them off, using the kit's pulse oximeter. Each of those two earns three CPD/CME points and a certificate.
The kit holds 29 items, including a dual-head stethoscope, aneroid sphygmomanometer, infrared thermometer, pulse oximeter, otoscope, reflex hammer, trauma shears, a nurse's watch, urinary test strips with specimen containers, the ECG card and a Snellen chart, examination and sterile gloves, and a nursing pouch, clipboard and lanyard to keep it all organised on a ward or in a classroom.
Built for cohorts. Nursing schools, medical assistant programmes, EMT and paramedic training, high school health science classes and military medic courses issue one kit per student and run the courses as a group, so every student practises on identical equipment and works the same curriculum, with completion tracked per student. This kit includes a pair of sterile-packed examination gloves made from natural rubber latex. These gloves are sealed in separate sterile packaging. Latex may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Non-latex examination gloves are also included in the kit.
This product contains one or more button cell batteries. Swallowing a button cell battery can cause serious injury or death. Keep out of reach of small children.
