The Medical Assistant Training Kit covers the two skill sets a medical assistant uses every shift: patient assessment and blood collection. The box contains the instruments for vital signs and examination alongside a venipuncture trainer arm and a full set of phlebotomy consumables, with six months of access to two certified Apprentice Doctor Academy courses: the Foundation Medical Course and the Phlebotomy and IV Skills Course.
Six months of access to two certified, self-paced Apprentice Doctor Academy courses is included. The Foundation Medical Course runs to 99 lessons and more than 50 practical projects done with the kit: hand hygiene, gloving and sterile technique; a full set of vitals; examination of the eye, ear, skin, mouth and abdomen; reflexes; heart, lung and bowel sounds; urinalysis; and a thorough medical history. It counts as the equivalent of sixty shadowing hours. The Phlebotomy and IV Skills Course teaches venipuncture, blood collection with vacuum tubes, butterfly and safety needles, finger-stick sampling and the handling of sharps, step by step on the trainer arm, and finishes with a certificate.
Assessment: a Rappaport-type stethoscope, aneroid sphygmomanometer, LED examination light, digital thermometer with tip covers, urinary test strips with chart, Snellen eye chart, tape measure and medical file. Phlebotomy: a mini venipuncture trainer arm in dark skin tone with a reservoir bag, syringes and needles in the common gauges, safety and butterfly needles, vacuum tube holders with ten plain tubes, lancets and a simulation finger-stick set, tourniquets, alcohol swabs, gauze, a kidney dish, work surface covers and a sharps container. 36 items in all.
Designed for group instruction. Medical assistant programmes, community colleges, phlebotomy courses and high school health science classes issue one kit per student so every learner practises on identical equipment, works the same two courses, and the consumables cover a full term of repetitions. The Apprentice Doctor's training courses and practice kits are not intended to be used as a substitute for clinical training. Instead they offer a solid foundation so students can master the initial learning curve in a non-clinical setting before confidently entering the clinical situation.

This kit includes a pair of sterile-packed examination gloves made from natural rubber latex. These gloves are sealed in separate sterile packaging. Latex may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Non-latex examination gloves are also included in the kit.
This product contains one or more button cell batteries. Swallowing a button cell battery can cause serious injury or death. Keep out of reach of small children.
Not suitable for children. Ensure the product is stored securely to prevent access by children.
